Going blonde for summer is kind of a no-brainer. After all, the sun is already doing its natural highlighting magic. But if you’re the type who likes to do things just a bit differently, colorist Gerilyn Ghaisarzadeh of Capricci Ricci Salon in Orlando, Florida, has created a blonde hair color that may be right up your alley. What started out as a color correction turned into peach perfectionwith coral and rose undertones,
and we needed to get all the details on how it all came to be.
Ghaisarzadeh explains that “peach blonde” is a new take on golden blonde. “Peach blonde is perfect for anyone with olive skin or with someone with golden flecks in their eyes,” she says.
Almost any skin tone can wear peach blonde when applied properly. “Fair skin can accommodate peach blonde as long as [the face is framed] with a darker, more complementary color to contrast to their light skin,” says Ghaisarzadeh. She doesn’t recommend it for someone with a lot of pink in their skin.
And voilà. A peach so perfect you might want to make a pie with it. “My client is a natural redhead. We arrived at this beautiful color from her red undertones, [and] decided to keep this color before applying more vivid tones,” Ghaisarzadeh explains.
When formulating for a peach blonde, Ghaisarzadeh notes that it’s important to consider any warmth you already have in your color with how much you’ll need to actually get the look. Your colorist should be able to find the right balance.
